For optimal service life of ZEVATRON long-life soldering tips, the following rules are essential:

• Never treat the tip mechanically; do not rub or scratch it — soldering and heat transfer should be achieved only through the solder.

• Never clean or damage the tip with wire brushes or files; clean it only with a damp sponge or cloth.

• Regularly remove the tip from the soldering iron and clean the inside of the iron with a round brush. Then, replace the tip.
